My name is Elle Joy and I am not an adventurer at heart. Ask my mom. I was that kid that did not move and could read an entire book in one sitting. I am afraid to do things I do not do well. I dislike change and the unknown.
And yet...
I have navigated countless airports on my own since I was 17. I have been to 4 out of 7 continents in the world. I lived abroad for over a year working as a nanny in a country where I did not know the language initially. I chose to play rugby all four years of college. I went to a university where I knew not one single person, wherein I chose a completely different life path and major than I intended.

Why would someone so adverse to risk and change live a life so entirely chaotic and adventurous? I believe it's Jesus. He knew I would turn into a mean hermit if left to my own choices and devices. I am so glad I chose Him all those years ago and choose Him still daily. Life is so much more fun that way.
Currently I work at Pine Valley Camp. A non-profit organization that strives to "rebuild broken lives through Christ Jesus". We believe that every kid should go to camp and have the opportunity to experience the fun of camp in the wonderful outdoors, which naturally points children toward our amazing Creator. I am so very thankful to be a part of this community.
